The newly formed LU Historic Preservation Committee has learned that Azikiwe-Nkrumah Hall and 14 other buildings on the Lincoln University campus ARE HISTORIC and eligible for the Historic Register on January 4, 1985 by the Bureau of Historic Preservation, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The letter confirms that the boundaries of a Lincoln University Historic District were determined after a Bureau site visit on November 4, 1986. Once again…

Carol Black, Lincoln University ’67 and President of the Chester County PA Alumni Association, has been working diligently with concerned LU Alumni to not have Azikwe-Nkrumah Hall, which was the second building constructed on the Lincoln University campus in 1865, from demolition as referenced in the “Open Letter to Alumni” dated June 4, 2013 by Dr. Robert Jennings, President of Lincoln University.

Ms. Black as a graduate of Lincoln class of 95. I support your efforts. I attend Lincoln with children of the Azikewe family. Any buildings been removed is removing history. If anything needs removed its Jennings.
